I took part in a food and beverage tour through Cheongju and Muju, an experience that allowed me and my friends to explore other sides of Korea’s alcoholic beverage culture. Our first stop was in Cheongju, at a brewery specializing in makgeolli, one of Korea’s most representative traditional liquors. During the visit, we learned about the production process and had a tasting of this famous liquor paired with some food. The tour then continued to Muju, where we visited a local winery specializing in wine production. Here, we enjoyed a guided tasting of different wines, discovering high-quality products. Light food pairings accompanied the tasting, making the experience even more enjoyable. Yhe tour was well organized, offering us a great opportunity to discover a different side of Korea through taste, tradition, and innovation.
