If you still don't know this delicious Korean food, I 100% recommend that you try it even just once Budaejjigae is a type of jjigae, or thick, stew-like Korean soup. Shortly after the Korean War, meat was scarce in Seoul, South Korea. Some people made use of leftover food from US bases around Uijeongbu, Pyeongtaek and Munsan, such as hot dogs, canned meat and Spam, by incorporating it into a traditional spicy soup seasoned with gochujang (chili paste) and kimchi. The city of Uijeongbu, which borders Seoul to the south and has many military bases, is famous for its budaejjigae MEANING: Budae", or military unit, and "jjigae," a dish made by boiling ingredients and stock in a pot As you can see in the video, on the same street there are several Budaejjigae restaurants where many famous people have also gone because it is a traditional dish with a lot of history. You can decide which restaurant to eat at and enjoy this delicacy. It's my favorite Korean food and I never get tired of eating it.
By subway you can go to Uijeongbu Jungang Station Exit 2 and walk just 2 minutes
