Anseong Baudeogi Festival – a popular culture and art festival in Anseong city. Since it first started in 2001, this festival has been promoting the preservation of the tradition of Namsadang (performance troupe that went around singing, dancing, and performing various tricks). Recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage, these performances showcase Korea's rich cultural history. During the festival, visitors can look forward to parades, workshops, hands-on activities and enjoy exciting performances of drumming, tightrope walking, masked dances, and acrobatics, all rooted in centuries-old tradition. Namsadang Nori is held at the festival, along with other shows, including Pungmul Nori (Folk Music and Dance Performance) and foreign folk performances. The festival's highlight is its location – next to a large lake covered in lotuses, with numerous beautiful bridges decorated with paper lanterns. There was also an agricultural fair, where local producers sold seasonal fruits and vegetables, sweets, and groceries at significant discounts. All of this was accompanied by fun contests and tastings. A wonderful idea was the creation of a traditional village in old houses, where guests could buy various souvenirs. Many artisans demonstrated their skills, and everyone was welcome to participate in master classes. Anyone could take a hanbok for free and take great photos at the festival. A big thank you to the Nongshim Factory – the largest ramen producer – for the delicious gift sets. Festival is more than just a show, it's a festive experience where culture, history, and entertainment come together.
The festival site is easily accessible by bus. Immediately upon entering, there are numerous food stalls. Further on, there are numerous tents selling regional agricultural produce. It's easy to grab a bite to eat and relax.
