Visiting the DMZ in Paju in April was a truly surreal and eye-opening experience! I joined a short trip organized by the Paju Government, which took us to several key sites, including the Dora Observatory, the Third Infiltration Tunnel, and the DMZ Peace Village. Standing at Dora Observatory, I was amazed (and a little emotional) to see North Korea with my own eyes—its villages, roads, and even the giant flagpole in the distance. Walking through the Third Infiltration Tunnel was both thrilling and eerie, knowing that it was secretly dug by North Korea in an attempt to invade the South. The DMZ Peace Village felt like a symbol of hope, showcasing efforts to transform this once heavily guarded zone into a place for peace and coexistence. The trip was incredibly well-organized, with detailed explanations from our guide about the history and tensions of the Korean Peninsula. Seeing the division between the two Koreas up close made me reflect deeply on the importance of peace and diplomacy. The weather in April was perfect—cool and comfortable for walking, making the experience even more enjoyable. This visit was not just a tour but a journey through history, reminding me of the resilience and struggles of the Korean people.
Tour provided by the government of paju is way cheaper. But, upu have to ho there by yourself
