Visiting Gyeongbokgung Palace for the first time in May was an unforgettable experience! The weather was perfect—warm but breezy—making it ideal for strolling around for four hours while dressed in a beautiful hanbok that I rented from a nearby shop at an affordable price. Wearing the hanbok made me feel like I had stepped back in time, and I loved how elegant and colorful it was. The palace itself was breathtaking, with its grand gates, intricate wooden carvings, and stunning courtyards that reflected the beauty of Joseon Dynasty architecture. I was amazed by the changing of the guards ceremony, which gave me a glimpse into the royal traditions of the past. Walking through the vast palace grounds, I learned about King Sejong’s contributions, including the creation of Hangul, and the significance of each building within the palace complex. The views of the palace with Bukhansan Mountain in the background were absolutely mesmerizing! This visit not only deepened my appreciation for Korean history and culture but also left me with beautiful memories that I will cherish forever.
Rent Hanbook at the nearby store so you can entrer for free. It is worth it!
