I am glad I went to this trip because I learnt in-depth about the history of the Indong Jang Clan and lifestyle of Joseon Yangban. Most importantly, I get to see the real artifacts from Joseon Dynasty which includes the headgear worn by scholars that passed the Civil Servant Examinations, the Exam papers (along with the marks - imagine your professor’s heirs still kept your exam papers for over 200 years), the official portrait bestowed to only high ranked officials and exam cheat sheets. At Soseowon Confucian Academy, I got to see and learnt a about Korean Education History as well as take a picture in front of one of the oldest Confucian Academy in Korea that exists since early Joseon Dynasty. It was a shame that it rained so heavily but it was also a great experience with Funday!
