DMZ&CAMP GREAVES: FULL IMMERSION > REVIEW

Peace and tranquility.This was exactly what I felt visiting DMZ with tour, organized by Funday Korea. DMZ is a place soaked in painful history of the Korean war and division of one nation into two countries. However, as time goes, this place is also changing. On the one hand, DMZ keeps all these painful memories of the past, on the other hand – it is a place, which, I believe, should become a bridge to peaceful unification in the future.

Dorasan Peace Park, maps of the united Korea, colorful ribbons with messages on a barbed wire fence etc. It feels as if the whole place is calling for building a peaceful future together. Dora Observatory is also an incredible place to go to, as you can have a closer look at North Korean city, if lucky, even to track down north koreans, riding bicycles on the way! As it was 2 days 1 night trip, we had a unique chance to stay overnight at the former American military base – Camp Greaves, located in Paju city, where we experienced real military life.

p.s. k-drama lovers would definitely enjoy Camp Greaves, as the very popular korean drama Descendents of the Sun was filmed there.
