Korea, a real paradise in Asia. In my one year stay, travel and tours in this place, I discover how beautiful this country is, especially travelling for free because of #Funday_Korea_Networks. The most exiting program that I participated in Funday Korea is the Seodaemun Food and History Tour. This program gives me opportunity to learn how to make Tteokbokki and Gimbap (#떡볶이와 김밥 만들기), which are delicious Korean delicacies. At the same time its paves way for me to meet new friends from the different countries like China, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Japan and also Korea. Part of this event was the Yeongcheon Traditional Market Tour (#영천시장투어), and I enjoy it a lot because I witness Korean market products and I discover how authentic their market is. And one of the main highlight of the program is the Seodaemun Prison Tour at night time, in which I do eyewitness their preserved prison hall exist since the time of Joseon Dynasty (~1910). I learn a lot from the museum inside this prison hall about its history on how Japanese soldiers tortured and later executed Korean Independence Movement followers. Part of the program upon visiting the prison hall is an activity about True or False Korean Historical Place (#한국역사 OX 퀴즈), because I am a Historian by profession, I answer everything right and won prize from the the competition. Im so happy and glad for winning the prize at that time. After that, another highlight of the program is the mini concert by Indie Band ‘Manjo Pocket’ (#만쥬한봉지 미니콘서트), we enjoy the beautiful and heart melting performance of their vocalist and its band. And lastly, we encountered a historical re-enactments (역사 재현 퍼포먼스) of how Japanese torture the Korean rebels, and it makes me sad and cry on how hard the life of the Korean prisoners before. It makes me salute more the Korean patriots and we will going to remember their sacrifice and how patriotic they are to their country. I really appreciate also how the Korean preserve their culture, good traits and positive values on how to love and honour your own country. At the end of the program, I went home full of experience, satisfied with the trip that was full of learnings and new friends.
